NO DIRTY DISHES DAY IS MAY 18TH
No Dirty Dishes is a holiday! Can you believe it? Who knew, right? I am not going to argue how silly the holiday actually is because I am definitely going to celebrate it! I get so tired of cleaning dishes.
It seems I never have a clean kitchen. Having an empty dishwasher and a empty sink rarely happens at the same time. John and I often work from home, therefore eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the house is pretty typical. My blog work often revolves around food and cooking. John and I also compete in chili cook-offs, so again, more dirty dishes. But if May 18th is No Dirty Dishes Day, how do you celebrate?
First, be sure to get all your dirty dishes cleaned on the 17th. That way your starting with a clean slate. I have found DAWN is the best in cleaning dirty dishes by hand. It’s also pretty good at getting some stubborn stains out of clothes. I had some ashes stain my pants when I did the fire walk with Anthony Robbins at Unleash the Power Within. You can barely see the stains now. I always use rubber gloves when I am hand washing dishes.
Protect Those Pretty Little Hands
You can get these fancy red and leopard latex gloves from Gloveables. Wearing these protect your hands and nails and may bring a little smile to your face. Having a dishwasher is a life saver.
I really miss it when we are staying at the camp because there is no dishwasher there. We go through a lot more paper plates, plastic forks and spoons when camping. You can think of some finger foods to make ahead for the special No Dirty Dishes holiday. Or what about grilling your food and using aluminum foil as the cooking method. I think the best way to celebrate is just eat out and let the restaurant handle the dirty dishes. Now where should I go out to eat?
If you still want to cook something from home, I found this No Dirty Dishes Chocolate Cake recipe HERE! How can you possibly celebrate a holiday properly without cake anyway. So here’s your solution.
Perhaps I will take some time to chill out with the extra time I have and watch the 1983 movie called, Dirty Dishes. “Dirty Dishes” tells the story of a woman who begins by feeling trapped by the routine of domestic life, and who ends by being trapped within her own madness.
